Pearl Beach sits at the quiet end of the Central Coast, a village of a few hundred houses between national park and Broken Bay, ninety minutes from Sydney. Sails is one of them: a light-filled house with lofted ceilings, glass walls and timber floors, built for long lunches, sandy feet and doing very little.
The beach is a flat 250-metre walk. The general store, café, playground and restaurant are a few minutes further. Behind the house there is nothing but bush.
